Okay so I am recording with my band and were going for a for the fallen dreams kind of style. We are using a pod studio gx recording interface which uses pod farm and I was wondering how do I get a punchy low end tone on the guitars?

Here are some links for examples:

How to get get punchy low end with guitars? ......

Don't you need a bass for that?

^This.

Getting that big sound is all down to the bass. Take a song that you're mixing and then mute the bass. Holy shit the guitars sound really small now huh? Guitars don't really have much low frequency content and need the bass to beef them up.

simply "hide" your guitar after bass and kick. In your second clip, try to hear the difference between the moments when the kick drum hits at the same time as the guitars and the parts where he doesn't, it's quit a huge difference ;)

That sort of tone is in the playing man. The two examples you showed were completely different, but the first one is all about the player and how tight they play, and the second one is about how you edit/mix your bass-guitar-kick relationship.
