How to turn your Superior 2.0 and NY studios SDX into a fat metal monster


I made this little guide basically for people not happy with the lack of fatness in superior 2.0 and
and don't want to spend other money in samples.
All you need is Superior 2.0 drummer and the new expansion pack NY Studios
We're gonna use the allaire kit!
Ok here's two presets to load in two instances of Superior 2.0

Now take your midi drums track, and duplicate it.
First midi track is going straight into the first patch (allaire kit), here we're pitch shifting down the kick to get more low end out of it.
Second one is just the allaire kit with just the kick loaded, this one has not pitchshifting stuff.

Now just multioutput the kick on the first instance and apply eqs as follows, to make it more metal lol :

Kick Comp (same eq as kick in)



On the second instance of Superior we dind't pitchshift down the kick since we're using this patch just to bring the attack of the kick back.
we won't multioutput it, and we're going to hipass till 2.00 - 3.00 Khz to get rid of the low end.

Kick unpitched

For toms we'll use the one in the allaire kit, I personally love them, fat and punchy and on fast rolls just sound way better than the ones in avatar
On the first patch I just replaced the snare with the one in avatart (ludwig black beauty) and added another tom from the allaire kit ... more metal
Set levels to each track according to taste !!!!

I left the rest unprocessed, the thing that really bugged was the kick in superior, now it's like a slate kick fat and punchy

yes you can apply this to everything, pitchshifting things is 10000 better than just adding low end with the eq, if it's pitched too high it won't sound big

I love that song. It's pure metal whoop-ass dished out in a six-pack. Clips sounds good. Thanks for sharing all that info.
