I didn't want to start a new thread, but this is all relevant information for myself.
I've got a couple of mates with some really nice drums that I plan to sample. A few snare drums (a Craviotto, FVF Custom, Mapex Black Panther Piccolo, Mapex Brass, Pearl Free Floating, a Worldmax based on a Ludwig 400), a Mapex Saturn with 2 rack toms (rectums... heh heh) and 2 floor toms. He's got a Gretsch kit as well. Really has more money than sense.
Anyway, If I was to set each drum out and use a couple of different mics on the head of the drum and then use my AT4033 as a room mic, would that be cool? Then put the samples up as room and close samples?
