I am very confused!

Hello,
From a long time i am trying to get as best sound i can using direct guitar recording and impulses. I had a few preamps and now i am testing sansamp psa 1.1. The results are crappy .
The worst thing is that i can't use a real cabinet to make a well sounding recordings because i have a neighbours...
So do You have a some tips how i can get a best direct recording quality?
I am also thinking about LittleLabs DI then VST amp's but i am not sure that is a good way... Please help me to find a 'SOUND'

well, preamps alone by them selves sound like metalzone. you need either a cabinet or a cabinet modelling with them.

Hello,
Yes i am using impulse response of cabinets
But i was thinking that when will buy a some hardware preamp it will sound better than for example Amplitube or Lepou Plugins. The truth is that is sounding just a bit better.
Now i am thinking about that setup:

TSE 808 (hardware ) -> LittleLabs DI -> Hardware Studio Preamp -> VST Simulator ( kile. Lepou ) and Kefir or Nebula

I have a good valve studio preamp with intrument input here is sample of guitar recorded with that preamp

So i am not sure that will need a LittleLabs DI how do You think?

Preamps dedicated to guitars don't require any DI boxes.
