I feel so...

Believe it or not, I'm actually bored of the nudie bar right now. I've been going every day for a while and it was just the same thing. Throwing money to the same strippers, getting a private lap dance while I tell them that I volunteer at a children's hospital or some bullshit like that. Started getting too routine.
I am swearing off of it for a few weeks believe it or not. :(

I wear sunglasses (reference my profile picture), but I don't need, hence I don't wear, regular glasses.

Seems to calm me down
This is a "fake" calm.

Indeed, when you start to smoke a cigarette, with the effect of nicotine and other products, the size of your artery are reducing, thus increasing your blood pressure. Your heartbeat is increasing also.

The calm feeling you have comes from your brain having it's drug, but in reality, it stresses you up on a biological point of view.

This is why usually when a smoker drinks a coffee, the need of a cigarette is showing up. Because of the cafeine increasing the blood pressure and heartbeat, thus giving the same effects on the body as smoking but without nicotine, then the body reacts and the body asks for the nicotine.

ahh..smokes. whats so great abt this "great" invention? thats likely a question we all want answers to..because smokers themselves cant provide a valid answer

i had my first "taste" of these lung enhancers when i was in the equivalent of grade 4..was 10 then. I nvr inhaled fully, always half n i blew the rest away. I went like that for about a month, after school with abt a group of 4-6 buddies we'd hide under an overpass and then walk to the nearest Mac's to wash our hands. And then buy some mints. Then i stopped. For a good 4 years..afterwhich i restarted but this time i became regular. I was 15 then & my gf influenced me into the drug. After a few mnths it became less regular. Then midway to 16, i became a HEAVY smoker. After about a year, which is now, im 17 already. I have become an occasional/social smoker and no doubt i will quit soon..sometimes i tell ppl i dont do cigarettes. Thats just because i only love smoking girls :)

Yeah, i am 17 also and i have quit smoking. I was a heavy smoker a few years back and just recently i was starting to take up that habbit also. I find that that 'fake' calm effect was really good as i do have a very busy lifestyle and don't have time to be stressed or anxious etc. and yes, i do drink coffee, only because working in a coffee shop makes you want to! And i inherited the straight up espresso shots from my dad as he is a strong coffee drinker also.

many smokers tell me they smoke because they're in too much "stress" Well whether its medically proven or not i dont know..but it sure does give u that "energy" to quit thinking of whats bothering u.

i started 2 years ago in dorm. all my friends were playing age of empires and since i hate strategy games i was bored as hell and while thinking "what should i do?" i took a cigarette and started smoking. the first one made me high and i quite liked it and enjoyed it. i smoked was very rarely until i smoked 4 cigarettes one after the other in a night of depression. even a month didn't pass until i realized i became an addict. damn age of empires, i hate you even more now. can i sue microsoft for making such a boring-to-watch game and making me start smoking? :)
anyway just kidding i never related smoking to stress, i don't think they have any relations at all. i just smoke now because i feel like it.
another interesting thing: one night i prepared myself a coffee and then realized that i had no cigarettes left. i forced myself not to ask my friends (i was in the dorm and my roommate was in another room playing cardgames with my heavy smoker friends) so i drank the coffee without smoking and that time i felt very weird. extremely calm and stressed at the same time. hard to define. but it was good. i wonder why such a thing happened.

Whenever I see anything about cigarettes, I always remember an episode of the Simpsons when Homer was trying to get life insurance in the beginning. The lady asks him if he smokes and he says yeah. Then Marge turns to him and screams out "no you don't!" and he whispers (in that loud raspy whisper he does) "shhhh, I want her to think I'm cool".

you were right, when you said it gets lower and lower since your first cig.
but if it's your first cig in the day I am sure enough it would make feel a little high.
dah, I don't what does the word "High" mean coz I never tried serious stuff.(i.e cocaine)

btw I am talking about Marlboros Reds :p

I DO COCAINEEE!!!!

I've smoked since age 0 passively...My dad smoked since he was 17 until the cigs got him a serious case of pneumonia when I was 8...I don't remember what he smoked back in the soviet Union but in Israel he smoked cheap and really stinky "Time" cigarettes...now my mom wasn't a smoker and wasn't addicted and just smoked to spend time with my dad during his breaks.
Once my dad got sick the doctors said he must quit smoking and he did...cold turkey and so did my mom. so both of them haven't touched a cig for 16 year now even when there are other smokers in the room.
I'm glad they quit because looking at my dad's medical problems now, if he was still smoking he proabably would have been dead for a few years now.
