I got a band who is asking me:

Loren Littlejohn

Lover of all boobage.
i've recorded both the B-52, and the valveking before

granted, the B-52 was for a punk band, but i would take it over the valveking anyday - the one i had to deal with flat-out sucked

Everytime I go into Guitar Center I am always shocked as hell when I hear those B-52 amps.

They are so cheap, but sound so good compared to everything else.

I have no clue what they are capable of in a band setting.

I hate to say it, but it might not be a bad choice.

I was blown away at the b-52 at100 and how dam good it sounded. I just know there built cheap and shit breaks but its def the better sounding of those 2:headbang:

Always been curious how they would translate on recording though......

the one i tracked came out pretty well - i tracked a demo for this punk band in the barn they rehearse in, and threw a 57 on each guitarist's amp...the other was one of those cheap solid-state marshalls, and the B52 ate the fucking marshall for lunch

He is stuck with a strict budget of 1,100.

He told me at first that he had 1,200 to spend on the head and $600 to spend on the cab. This would have been a much easier budget to work (fuck I found him a fireball for a grand and a marshall 1960B with v30s for 500) with but all well.

used 5150 and cab can be done for under $1000 and it is obviously much better than both of those amps.
