Odd stuff. I think I'll watch my Decasia tape while we do the four-stereo thing sometime in February?

Has anyone ever successfully executed this shit before? Is it worth the effort?

This may cheapify it for you, but someone could always load all 4 discs into the computer and mix them together so you have it all on one listenable disc.

Well...yeah...but you lose the most important part of the album, don't you? The fact that it's unique each listen due to the slight variations in CD players is kind of the point. You also don't have listener interaction (you can stop or not use the various discs to change the songs; they're set up so you can listen to 1, 1+2, 1+2+3, or 1+2+3+4 and get different stuff out of it each time).

Also, that would be less fun.

You can do those, too, with progressively more avant-garde results! Part of the stated goal is to create music which is not immediately considered "experimental", though, and the screamy free-jazz appears to become more pervasive on the later discs.

i have a cd made of all 4 mixed together into one .....

its not nearly as exciting that way. once you take out the 4 stereo party aspect, it just sounds absurd.
