Here's my obligatory kiss ass review -
Got the "MUSIC OF MASS DESTRUCTION" DVD/CD yesterday. It's no "KISS ALIVE IV" but it's good. Little sarcasm for you.
AUDIO - Awesome, great mix. I can't think of the last time I heard a live record mixed this good. The crowd is loud as hell. Chicago rules! They actually had to turn the crowd down in the mix for being too loud.
VIDEO - Really cool. Not just boring straight ahead concert footage. Tons of cuts/edits and effects. I couldn't get the HYPERANGLE to work on my DVD player but then again I'm retarded so I'm sure it works I just dunno how. Save that for another post
BEHIND THE SCENES - Rules! The Alex Ross segment is worth the price of the DVD alone. Charlie's toy factory visit is great, you get to see John's bar "The Burning Bush" and Scott has some choice commentary as always. "Fun with Rob" shows the true Rob Caggiano. Look for cameos by me (you get to see my left ass cheek, for real), Tim "FUCKING" Dralle, Charlie's wife Sandra, John's wife Tori and some Joey Vera dude.
ARTWORK - Came off OK. The manufacturer printed it way too dark but oh well too late now. I should have stayed up their ass more about that. I think you'll like the layout. If you're a collector I'd say you'll like the regular DVD box art better than the CD format case. BUT you'll have to get both as the CD case has liner notes by Charlie and the DVD case has liner notes by Scott.
Pick it up, very entertaining and with the CD/DVD it's a great value. Ehhh I sound like WalMart. But serioiusly it's not just some cash cow record company needs money cheap ass home video crap. It was an insane show and the DVD does it justice. Now to start working on METALLUM MAXIMUM AETERNUM.
