I just bought this ESP/LTD f-207

How is the clarity though? Every 7-string I have owned and played had the same problem, being too muddy and just undefined. From what I understood after a lot research it is just the simple nature of the 7-string design.

Its actually pretty clear... the pickups are both 707-81... so i guess they are voiced like 81s...

it could be just modified by a luthier or some dude... but who knows, maybe u are a lucky dude lol

I actually bought it from someone who is endorsed by EMG and ESP/LTD... He didn't look familiar to me, though... but it wasn't his custom anyway... also there is no "Made in Korea" or whatever stamped on it... apparently it was made here in LA... also, it has no serial number.

even on the off chance that its a just a regular f-207... the lack of a tone knob and the awesome pickups and the sound/playability of this thing was more than worth it for me... that and I needed a 7 string to learn some songs for a band I'll be trying out for... proggy-metal crazyness...

nice score man! i was in the market for a 7 string a while back, and searched high and low for a good deal on one of the nicer LTD models with no luck

i ended up getting this rg7621 off the bay super cheap (it was covered with stickers when i bought it) and it's probably the only ibanez guitar that i'll actually keep

Yeah man, that does look nice... I almost bought 7621 myself... but I'm actually super stoked on mine... how does yours play? I almost don't even notice the extra width of the neck up until around the 10th fret... cause I like to wrap my thumb over the top and its gets a bit difficult at that point...

yeah, i had a 7420 a few years ago that i picked up in a pawn shop for $160! i really kicked myself for selling it...but i couldn't dig the cheap trem, crappy pickups, and i needed the money badly at the time; the 7621 was pretty much what i expected tho...a hardtail version of my old 7 string, with better pickups

i really love it tho...the neck is thin enough to be comfy, but not abnormally thin like a lot of rg's are (or even some of the newer schecter 7's) i have no problem getting around all aspects of the neck

when i bought it i had planned on getting a band going that was gonna use 7 strings primarily, that fell through literally the day i paid for the guitar on e bay...i'm not gonna be dumb enough to sell this one

btw metaltastic, it's black

Why's it an LTD if it's a custom, though?

That. I think the original F-207 only had a vol & toggle. The EMG's were probably an upgrade. If it's custom there would be a serial engraved in it on the headstock or heel plate. The Korean stuff just had a sticker on the back of the headstock ( which is easily removable ). The thinner body, idk. Maybe an F 107 with a 207 neck? They had a few different versions of the F. The 207, 107 and 50. They have some new versions too now. If it was custom it sure as hell wouldn't say LTD.

That said, they are hot looking fiddles and if you like then who gives a fuck? Play it!

ESP forum might be where to ask for specifics on it.

This one, and the MF207 with the skull/crossbone inlays, are both ones that I'd really like to get my hands on. PM me if you ever change your mind on this axe, I'd love to have it. I almost had one a few years ago on Ebay with venom green EMG707's and skull knob (reminded me of the black/grn UV7's back in the day) but I was taken advantage of...my dialup at the time wasn't great for buying shit off ebay, people would bid in the last minute while I was waiting for my shit to refresh. It was a sad day...
