I just don't get the boogie

I also keep a bunch of spare tubes on hand just in case and have tried rolling them every time I've recorded a Mesa.

Sounds like the amp volume is really low, or bad mic placement. Where did you have the mic?

Whats the amp volume like? Just doesn't seem to have any "power" behind it. I have heard MUCH MUCH worse tones, but this isnt even close to what I have heard out of most Boogies on this forum. My first suggestion is boost the gain a bit and bring up the overall volume on the amp. Leave all the tone controls where they are. The Mic is not the issue here, the amp is just lacking balls which usually happens with most amps if you record them at too low of a volume.
