Since graduation I've been struggling through a slew of really crappy jobs and trying to do freelance writing on the side. Portrait of a starving artist and all that shit. Anyhow, through a friend of mine I ended up getting in contact with the manager of a large but independent music store who is looking to expand his operations.

It started out just in consultation, but now I'm being hired on to develope a metal section for his store and for the second branch he's opening this summer. The job also entails promtional stuff for local bands and at shows from bigger artists as they come through.

Someone is going to pay me to sell metal (real metal, not pop crap) and to go to concerts to promote the store. I get to decide what stock in metal and hardcore we carry, I have charge of the budget. I'm happy. getting paid for something I'd do for free.

Fuck yes. METAL!

Sorry poison, it's all in AZ. Kinda cool though, to be able to get specialization. If I can keep sales high they'll give me a bigger budget.

There are always a bunch of bands that people into one type of thing will love if they hear it. Nevermore is one of those. Anyone who liked thrash and heavier old school metal usually digs the hell out of them. So do a lot of goths who also like metal. I always plug nevermore whenever I talk metal with people.

Converting the masses to quality evil.

:muahaha:

Thanks ledmag. I'll keep everyone updated with the progress. I'm so jazzed.

No insult taken. I like irony, and I knew it when I used the term. I'm jazzed about metal. And now I'm going to meet some friends and play them the samples of Martyr I downloaded because they rule.

there new clip on tv, INTHE NED, is way cool, lots of symbolic shit....

No Linkin Park. I won't stock boy bands, even if they have guitars. Only metal.

Nocturnal- it's Monkey Mambo. It'll be a couple of weeks before I get the metal section into anything worth a damn because I'll have to wait for orders to come in. Trying to grab new releases first before filling the back catalogue. And then I plan to hit every metal show and get the word out. I'll keep the locals updated.

As far as I know, they actually have a store online already. We also sell instruments and equipment and a lot of people buy online. I'm hoping to start up a section online, we have a programmer (sorry Jimbohickville, I'd prefer to give it to a fellow metal fan, but we'll see)

So, pulling out back stock we have some cool vinyl. Old Armored Saint and Malmsteen and Riot. And, this is cool, Coroner and Bitch. That just kicks ass.

Can't wait to start getting new shit in. I got my friends telling everyone.. I will make this metal section worthy.
