I just noticed that Native Instruments has free Kontakt player, they released it like a month ago:

I've been reading a little, but just to make sure... you can't just load your own samples into Kontakt player, right? Is there any software that does this?

It's still downloading so I don't know what the limitations are yet, but my guess is "no, you can't". I think that is Battery or the Titan-Free I linked above that can do that.

If I remember correctly all it does is play samples in your "Kontakt" library. I got it a while back and trashed it.

But there is a quite large free sample library to download for it as well, so you do get something out of it... for free I have no clue how good those samples are though but they are taken from the original libraries... little bits and pieces.

This Service Center crap... does it require you to be online all the time? My studio computer does not have access to internet, but I can activate it from home and then take the computer back to the rehearsal room but it would suck if it required a connection all the time.
