I just noticed that Native Instruments has free Kontakt player, they released it like a month ago:

KVR had a news about this, a free sampler that you can insert 24 samples into:

Best Service has announced the release of "TITAN-free", which is more than a demo version for the full version of TITAN as it includes an unlimited version of Best Service's Sample Player ENGINE along with free TITAN demo content - based on 12 multi-samples from the full version. Plus TITAN-free can import up to 24 of your own samples, per layer, into ENGINE.

Thanks for the heads up!

I've been reading a little, but just to make sure... you can't just load your own samples into Kontakt player, right? Is there any software that does this?

It's still downloading so I don't know what the limitations are yet, but my guess is "no, you can't". I think that is Battery or the Titan-Free I linked above that can do that.

Universal Import of virtually any sample format
Kontakt player: no (30 minutes in demo mode)
Kontakt: yes

After playing around a bit with it it just stopped working and said something about demo-trial was over.. o,0

If I remember correctly all it does is play samples in your "Kontakt" library. I got it a while back and trashed it.

But there is a quite large free sample library to download for it as well, so you do get something out of it... for free :) I have no clue how good those samples are though but they are taken from the original libraries... little bits and pieces.

Did you activate it with the provided serial you got in your mail when downloading? I haven't installed it yet, I currently am though :)

This Service Center crap... does it require you to be online all the time? My studio computer does not have access to internet, but I can activate it from home and then take the computer back to the rehearsal room but it would suck if it required a connection all the time.
