One of my favorite 80's bands - Fifth Angel. Quite an interesting story too what with the original lineup with members such are James Byrd (guitar), Ken Mary (drums), Ted Pilot (vocals), and Ed Archer (bass). Of course you all know Ken Mary went on to be in several other metal bands of the day such as Accept, Fifth Angel, Chastain, TKO, Impellitteri, House of Lords, Bonfire and Alice Cooper. Also James Byrd who is mostly known as a neoclassical shredder with several solo releases.

If you want to read a story about a band that had it all handed to them on a silver platter but still managed to fuck it all up - read the Wiki article on them. They had a seven record deal with Epic Records (CBS), they got Terry Date to produce their second disc, had the record label throwing money at them lining up tours with bands such as Iron Maiden and still managed to screw it up - they only played two gigs ever, both not to the public - both showcases for Epic executives. and only recorded two of the seven albums.

They supposedly have reformed and will be releasing something in the future.

Regardless of the sad story - both discs are great slabs of metal that all should add to their collections.

In the spirit of this thread, I figure I should mention that my band is finally playing it's first gig in July...opening for Bang Tango at a local bar. Should be interesting.
