Have to say I love some of the mixed bands that are associated with Katatonia, it shows the diversity of the music they write even if the general feel is heavy goth and metal its not really anything to do with that other than the sound.
Shamrain - reminds me of Slowdive which is of course quite interesting.
Daylight dies is like old katatonia but with the new melodic style- however they definitly have their own sound (and its fucking awsome I only just got into this)
And Swallow the Sun are not bad, but DD have really drawn me in lately Jens really mixed that one well, the vocals although screamy have such an amazing presence.
