Hey, I noticed there wasn't a thread dedicated to my favorite cross-genre. I'm a fan of many melodic death/doom bands including Daylight Dies, Swallow the Sun and October Tide. I also like some of the heavier stuff like Asphyx and Ahab.

Anyone else a fan of the genre?

My Dying Bride, Evoken, diSEMBOWELMENT and Daylight Dies are all great bands.

Death/doom has always been one of my favorite genres, they seem to mesh really well.

Although Ahab is a great band, they are unquestionable funeral doom.

Hell yeah. The old Dutch scene is severely underrated. Other than Dream Death, I can't think of an earlier example of Death/Doom than Sempiternal Deathreign's The Spooky Gloom. Classic stuff.

Add Mourning to that list btw.

Arcane Sun is very underappreciated.

Morgion's Solinari is one of the more beautiful examples of how to execute the style

Thorr's Hammer is quite good as well.

'Paradise Lost - Lost Paradise' and 'My Dying Bride - As the Flower Withers' are hard to top, no pussy stuff there. Thergothon, Winter and old Katatonia are worthy too.
