Hey d00dz:lol:

Because I'm doing my GCSE's at the moment nowhere will accept me when I ask about jobs (for people not from the UK, you have to do GCSE's before you leave school to go to college :) ) I live around Islington in London, I was wondering if anyone on here who works in a music production environment knows if there are any jobs going?

I would do anything, like sweeping up shit, bringing tea to people, that kind of boring shit, I really need to do something though. I'm free over the weekends, tuesday, friday, for wednesday and thursday i'm free after 1pm and monday i'm free until 7pm when I have to go to do some work.

If anyone can help me it would really be good, I'm desperate to do something, I was home-schooled so don't really do much at the moment. If you can help, I will be like :notworthy at your knees!

ALSO, I'm 16, young, but I can sweep up and make tea and drinks for people!

So, if anyone has a job like this that I can do for you, or if you work at somewhere where there might be a spare little job like this, please post here or PM me :)

dude the music industry is a difficult industry to get into. its fine once you get your foot in there but the initial start off its very difficult.

my recommendation to you is offer yourself up to work voluntarily as an assistant within a large venue and get to know the staff around etc. you'll be sent on coffee runs and all sorts of horrible shit but your aim is to work up to being almost like an assistant to the managers / owners. if you pick the right venue (do research first) you'll land yourself into a very cushy position in the industry. you'll meet some good people in the industry and if you hold yourself respectively and show an active interest in the subject they'll remember you. but you must show an interest, ask to go with your boss when he's meeting up with others and keep an open mind. after say a year or so of "sucking dick" your going to go to your boss and speak to him like a friend / father expressing what you want to get out of life within the music industry and chances are he'll recommend you, even do a lot of the talking for you to get you involved in different areas which will pay out very nicely

its a real shit industry filled with cunts, drugs and money laundering but on the other side its very exciting and the people you'll meet will be amazing. you'll also learn about the production of gigs and tours etc which is so valuable.

you have to do your research 1st though. example a guy i worked with (friend of my father) owned his own venue when i was working with him. now all went fine etc and im much more ahead in music land then i was back then. anyway what im trying to say is i had no idea he owned the other studio across the road, or the 4 other studios in dublin, or grouse lodge in ireland where michael jackson and the likes like that often hung out to record their records. i had no idea he owned the o2 arena in dublin - tested to have the highest specs and the best sound in all of europe. so do your research because you dont want to land a job with a crummy fat old bar owner

Thats basically what I am planning on trying to do! I couldn't care less about if I was getting any money for doing the boring shit, I have read a lot of things where producers and shit have said thats how they started, as a bitch making tea or tidying up, I NEED to do something like this!
