Hello everyone its been a while since ive been on here ive been away focusing on my radio show (www.myspace.com/metalheadzfm) anyway i haven't mixed a band in about 4 months and really miss it and want to get back into the swing of things. Does anybody have some files lying around from some old recordings or something just need some tracks to work on. Ive got a band in the studio on the 18th aswell so would like to use this as practice.

Thanks

Pete

I would be interested to have a song mixed. I have a song that I recently mixed that I am not really satisfied with mixing wise.....

I don´t know what kind of music you are interested in mixing, but this song is kind of melodic hard rock/metal....I attach link to my mix.

Let me know if you would like to mix it and I will export the separate files.

GIVE IT TO ME!!!!!

Hi again!

I have now made a .rar file with the project but it is to big to get on my server (appr 250 mb), so can the people wanting to mix the track, please PM me your e-mail address and I will use a "big file sending" service and send you the file.

Ok, I hope I got the "dropbox.com" thing right...so here is the file:

https://files.getdropbox.com/u/1506931/Moveonfromhere.rar

According to a person that aleady have got the rar-file, it may be something wrong with the drums OH track, so here it is as a separate file:

https://files.getdropbox.com/u/1506931/drumOH.wav

Some info about the project and included files in the file:

Bpm 124
I have included midi of drums, synths as well as wav´s of all of them. The drum sampler I have used is Superior drummer 2. I have also included an SD file of the drum settings (if you use SD) and also a print screen of the midi mapping of the drums.

Guitars and bass are only DI

If you have any questions or if something seems strange just let me know!
Looking forward to hear some mixes :headbang:

later today i will post my mix, the song is awesome... lirycs are kinda freak haha but is ok!

really dig the song.

do you guys recorded the hole album? or just ep/demo?

would someone like to do my snippet?

Clip: http://www.lightningmp3.com/live/file.php?id=19525
Trax: https://files.getdropbox.com/u/1511344/ToneTest - Scratch Tracks.rar
NOTES:-
Tempo: 150
Each guitar track has 3 varieties:
POD: a good preset found on sevenstring.org and tweaked, based on a uberschall with a TS and a Treadplate 4x12
DI: dry track passed through the pod's usb (using the pod as an interface)
PreDI: I realise that the DI signal seems alittle dull so i tried to bring up the volume and a little eq using the vocal preamps of the podx3live
The bass tracks are simply DI recorded - you'll have to pitch shift them and use effects
Post processing in the track - simply a high and low pass on guitars at 12,000Hz and 200Hz, a low pass at 160Hz on bass and a 3db bump at about 1500Hz & for drums, some compression, a tad bit
eq and a 3db high shelf from 5000Hz for some sheen (i think) on the drum mixdown

Fuck, didn´t noticed how cheesy it is. No offense. Quick test without backround, soli and automation (my poor CPU). Guitars are the forums new usual soloc 8505 chain:) Was a lot of fun, thanks.

Hi MetalMiller!
Yes it is a very cheesy song:D no offense taken!

Some reflections from your quick-mix:

Really different mix than mine:D
I really like the snare and the kick, how did you get this sound?
The piano I did not really like...I would like to get it a bit "closer" in the mix
The guitar sound in itself I liked, but not really in this song...to high gain I believe for this song (according to how I see it...)
The vocal sound I think is good, but to low to say, same for the bass.
Thank´s for your mix!

please let me know what you think!

Hi felipe-x!

Right now we have recorded 11 songs as demos/pre production (these can be heard at http://www.crystallight.se if you are interested to hear more). We are working on another 6 songs that are more less recorded (mostly miss lead vocals and solos right now) and when we have recorded these we will pick out 11 or 12 songs from these and record a full length album. Hope to start recording this autumn....

regarding your mix:

I really like the drums! (drums are the main problems in my mixes...)
Also I dig the bass sound (how did you do that?)
The vocals are a bit loud I think..and maybe a bit dry.
The guitars are pretty ok, but I think I would like to tweak them a little (can not really describe how, though....)

I don´t like the piano..to hard and distant.

Overall a very promising mix-much more "airy" than mine, mine seems a bit "muffled" in comparision.

My vision of this song is to have a bit of "Queensryche-feeling" to it, and I think that you´re mix is a step in the right direction!

OT: I went to see Queensryche live yesterday at a festival in Sweden...pure fucking magic!
