I swear I'm psychic

Yeah dude. You're psychic.
Or here's another possibility: The first thing could be by you being subconsciously aware of something before you are consciously aware of it.
Sorry but the second is just stupid. You are reading a pro audio magazine simultaneous to listening to a pro audio interview and they both mention one of the most popular uses for one of the most popular pieces of gear. Really? That creeps you out?

Today I fantasized about driving a Ferrari and then I saw one on Top Gear like 2 seconds later. Also, today my boss walked in and I knew he was going to ask an annoying question and then he did. I must be a soothsayer.

hahh. You guys are taking the name of this thread way seriously.. I didn't literally mean I'm psychic, but like I said.. It's been happening every day for a couple of months now.. It's just weird.

This is most likely the answer as far as I am concerned. I saw a doco about this very thing and they said it happens when something disturbs the flow of information to the conscious brain so it arrives milliseconds earlier to the subconscious brain giving us a feeling of a memory, or awareness of the event when it reaches the conscious brain.

I have this happen to me and have done most of my life as far as I can remember back anyway.
Mine are more specific as it is always conversation with others but sometimes it can be an entire sentence or two rather than just a word.
I catch myself day dreaming about random, rather boring everyday things like how I would spend a typical day and then sometimes years later I will re live entire portions of those day dreams including conversation word for word. Creepy.

NS, dude, you should have seen the real drums SSL thing coming, I mean, something like the word "bashing coming" going through your mind or something before clicking "post thread"

K I just won't share things that I think are cool anymore. Easy.

the whole turkey thing can be explained. I'm willing to bet that the place you were driving by where you saw the turkey sign is a place you've driven by before. perhaps you've seen that sign subconsciously, and as you were driving by you though of it.

How many times have you thought of "something" and that something hasn't materialised before you?

Exactly. These are mere coincidences and the brain only acknowledges them because it is looking for patterns. Think of all the thousands of thoughts you have that don't coincide with other occurrences. These are not noteworthy, but greatly outnumber the coincidences.

It's like looking at a clock and the time is 3:33. Your brain says, "Wow, that's weird. I was just thinking it's 3:33". But by comparison how many more times do you think "I think it's 2:30 and you look at the clock and 3:08, or whatever. You don't make a mental note of it because it's not correct.

Really, our brains are constantly looking for patterns to explain things in order to create a cause and effect understanding of the world.

Did you read that it's happening a lot lately?

...yep

It cant possibly be just because you are aware of it now!
Oh man, you must be psychic........ :D

Once i had an experience that felt like it had happened before.. must have been a previous life shining through or something.

I know the feeling, but the other way round all the time:
When I speak to someone and happen to read a certain word I can't help but say it out loud sometimes  not kidding!
Especially when the wird is somehow similar, hehe.
(but back to topic:)
Yeah I also think it has to do with the subconscious/conscious thing. It happens to me from time to time and often I realize I saw the turkey/whatever right before but didn't really "realize" it.. so you think "wow, i was just thinking of a turkey" but really you saw it, thought of it, and then realized it.
My 2 cents.

Just to show you something.. choose a number with max 4 digits, then try to think of the number a couple of times a day so that you get subconsciously aware of it.
Then the interesting part comes: Come back in a week and tell us how many times a day on average you have noticed this number, and then remember the fact that in 4 digit numbers there are 10000 different combinations.. and how likely is it that exactly your combination will pop up? ;)

Im not trying to be a douche(Even if i always sound like one..), but seriously, this is just so ridiculous.

*edited for missing a digit.
