Don't forget memory has a particularity : sometimes it fucks itself up this way :
- you see something.
- your memory records it instantly (it's its purpose)
- now it's part of the past (after the little time it needs to be recorded)
- You should now be aware inconsciously that it's something that happened only a second ago
- BUT sometimes memory fails at it and think it was something old in your memory. You are almost "feeling" this is something you had in memory for days, but it is not.
- then you suddenly realize you had predicted this. But it's not the case, it's the first time you are seeing this, but memory is instantly reading what it is recording and sends you the image back as if it was an older memory.
- it gives you a feeling of having known this would happen, but it's just chemistry in your brain.
It happens some time to time, it happened to me a lot. Sometimes also, I learn something, a song, a name, I meet a new person, I spend an afternoon shopping, and when I get back, I say to myself "hey now that I'm thinking of my afternoon, it's like I have dreamt of it before. wait a minute, didn't I predicted or dream of it ?" but it's just memory who fails at putting a time label on an event, and you start thinking an event in your memory is older than it is.
Also... yeah, don't forget auto-suggestions. The only reason why you would be psychic would be guessing something really impossible to guess. This : "Just now I was listening to an interview and browsing an article at the same time (Completely irrelevant to what I'm listening to), and in the interview the guy said "Distressor emulation" and.. sure thing at that EXACT moment I read "Disressor 1176 emulation".." is pure random. On the same type of things, you could think of the fact we all almost lived once in your life : you learn a new word, and suddenly you start hearing it everywhere. It's no magic, it's just you are paying attention to it more than average. And I swear I have heard people say "omg there are strange events in my life those past days, I hear the word "xxxx" each fucking day".
