I think ATG and Carcass should co-headline a US tour.

I like Slaughter Of The Soul and anyone who goes against that. Well, go ahead waste your time.

most people like slaughter of the soul honestly its just written better and is more interesting than a lot of the earlier stuff which is just too primitive, yet people call it sellout. it always seems to be the tr00 super metal kids who call it sellout too, no surprise there. my brother and i were talking about it, while the old stuff isn't bad, you can't honestly tell me you think those violins and shit are good and actually add to the music, they're just stupid and shitty. the first time i've heard them being used well was in terminal spirit disease which all the tr00 metal kids say is the beginning of sellout. utterly retarded.

I honestly can say that they are good and actually add to the music. If you think SotS is better written then you've got a problem there, because just because it is more straightforward and easy to get into doesn't make it a better album.

If that were the case then every Brittney Spears album is better written than Gorguts - Obscura.

Am I the only one who thinks neither of them should reform? These are the bands that gave you the atrocities that are Slaughter of the Soul and Swansong.

I saw Carcass twice, Grindcrusher tour(Necrotism album!!) with Cathedral, Napalm Death, and for the moment, another Earache records artist I can't remember. Then on the Metallica pre-warm-up tour, where they played the night before metallica. That was for their Heartwork album. At The Gates once, last tour before they broke up. The best band that night out of the four...no kidding...was Dissection!

So? Slayer gave us God Hates Us All and we'd all be crushed if that band broke up.

I wouldn't care if they broke up at this point. They're way past their prime. The only reason At The Gates and Carcass would have a re-union tour is for an easy cash-in attempt.

actually I think slayer probably should break up...Kerry King is just an embarrasment to metal at this point.

If ATG would record something new, that would be cool. A reunion tour is fine...

No, you can't. They are incredibly developed musically and if you can't see that then you are not fit to be commenting on the band as a whole.

I don't know about you but 'Oh hey, we're getting attention from people lets clean our production up and streamline our music so more people like us' is pretty sellout-esque.

 That's just kinda funny. I don't know why I laughed at this post. I don't get how bands like that can be sell outs. Besides, Melodic Death Metal is a more streamlined version of Death Metal anyways, so that argument doesn't hold much value.

I don't think they're necessarily all that technical of a band I don't see anything too special there. There are much more tech bands out there. I Think TRitSiO & TSD are their best albums. Also, to WeAreInFlames - TRitSiO has great production. You shouldn't undermine that album's production as there are much rawer albums & bands out there. WFIKtBD is their weakest link, I think. SotS is kinda weak too. I just started listening to them about a month ago too.

From my experience, I don't mind that they release shit from this point since the sets at their shows consist mostly of classics.
