I want this: Izotope rx 3

this is amazing, need to try the trial asap.
i wonder if it works removing stuff like background noise on acoustic recordings or string noise on bass, frett buzz and similar stuff.

EDIT: haha, ok, i just bought RX3, there's a DEAL going on right now on audiodeluxe :)

Yes there is a deal however what about RX3 standard as opposed to the full version ? It sounds like the nice part of RX3 is the spectral removal, and if I am right you need the full version to use that feature ? What about removing the low background noise from an omni microphone, would it do the job without affecting the quality of the take ?

yes you need the full version, which is pricey tbh, to use spectral removal

I know but it is at the cost of quite a bit of quality. It is a différent technology too, similar to Wales DeNoise and X-noise or whatever, but rx can do more, like mentioned removing a specific background noise that is not constant.

There is a spectral denoiser in adobe audition as well, I will check it out since I managed to get a hold of a CC legit account.

I bought rx2 a couple of years ago for dialog work but I use it for all kinds of stuff. I've removed hi hat hits from crash decay on OHs if that gives you an idea of its power.

edit: btw, I use the spectral tools all of the time with the standard version. You don't get the "deconstruct" feature but you can still remove that stuff.

maybe i'm using it wrong but the denoiser for instance, it just acts like a lowpass filter, yes it eleiminates hi-hiss-noise but it also makes everything sound dull...i can do that with an Eq too.
the declicker seems nice but as soon as you dial it in far enough that it actually is audible, it destroys the sound completely.

You really need to read the manual. Denoiser definitely isn't an LPF. It can get artifacty if you ask too much of it but it's quite good. I don't use declicker much but rather use spectral repair for clicks and pops but I imagine it has a similar learning curve to maximize its value as the other tools in the suite.
Ways RX has saved my ass:
repairing distorted/clipping audio
cleanly and naturally removing plosives
removing extraneous noises from music tracks (stick clicks, accidental rim hits, dogs barking, etc.)
maximizing s/n of recordings from loud environments.
"restored" audio from tape shed
etc.

Hey egan, all of this with the standard version?
I mean does the new rx3 standard version do this?
For me it's important removing clipping and noise (for instance drums stick )
