I always do this, the only difference is that I run back into a real amp via my interface.
My interface re-routes my DI signal back to the amp while I am playing live with zero latency.
Now i can go get everything else sounding great and tailor my guitar tone to the mix in front of me and not vice versa
I do this also. Since I have the spare outputs and inputs. I send the DI in and then send signals out to a few modelers (cabs off) or a preamp back to a tube power amp. I'll also record 1 or 2 mics depending on if I feel like setting the second one up. I'll record those inputs to seperate tracks and monitor the guitar from the cab. It seems like over kill but I don't have to reamp as much since the signals are allready recorded with a patch from each one and it's easy to send the original DI out and back for reamping.
