I would like to...

So what do you want? A medal?

Morbid Angel is alright. The vocalists they've had over the years leave a little more to be desired though. As far as pure death metal goes, I prefer Nile and Cryptopsy (who I'm seeing in 6 days... YAY!!)

Huh. I've always loved their vocalists. Dave was good, and I thought Steve did a great job of replacing him. I'm wondering what'll happen to them next.

Hell, seeing Dave just growl it out on the God of Emptiness video (back in the day when Headbanger's Ball was on) was glorious. That, the Rapture video, and Carcass's Heartwork video got me into death metal.

And because it was the first album I got into, my favorite is still Covenant, but Domination and FFttF are not far behind.

David was good... God of emptiness is awesome, especially when he's speaking 'like a snake im slithering' and all that, with the fryed vocal effect.

...But personally, i actually prefer Steve... Such a big fucking voice, yet you can hear wat hes choking and spluttering.

...Hmm... New to morbid angel... What to start with, that's a tough one.

Most of their stuff is pretty hard to get into, but once you are into it, you notice all these cool little bits and fills and stuff.

Probably start with Gateways to Annihilation if you are after 'accessability'... Formulas Fatal to the Flesh is more of an 'experiment', with crazy little jazz sections here and there, almost like a prog-death album.

I would reccomend Covenant if you are already into alot of Death metal, it's heavy as fuck, yet it still retains that 'oldschool' feel to it.

If you're up to download a few songs, download the slow/sludgy tracks first, such as: "God of emptiness", "Nothing is not", "Dawn of the angry", "At one with nothing".

Hope that helps a bit, dude with the weird name. :)
