Ibanez S470

Not really, just turn the volume down, it's active for a reason

I actually think it sounds like shit WITH distortion because it's too bright...it excels in clean tones imo

From my experience, the brand of the pickups and the brand of the guitars don't have any relation whatsoever. You guys should try and get custom built guitars to get some prejudices away...

Not really, RGs have more of a high-end tone cause of the way the guitars are built so it affects pickup tone. Ernie Ball use different woods, also affects the tone. ESPs are great all-around toned guitars, again, affects pickup tone. It all depends on what kind of tone you like though, there is no 'perfect sound'.

So you agree with me - it's not related to the BRAND, it's related to the tonewoods they use in each of their models...

something which works on a basswood rg might not work at all in a mahogany s, and they're both ibanez...

I agree that brands have no affect to the tonal properties of the guitar, just the way the guitars are built. But you do agree with me that putting Dimarzios into an Alder body RG will produce a different sound than a Mahogany Carvin for example.

Depends on which dimarzio....

It will of course produce a different sound, but I'm just stressing on the fact that even within brands there are different models and that therefore a statement such as "put dimarzios on a ibanez" is nonsense...or a very farfetched claim at best.

Bare knuckle are overpriced and overrated.

I know for a fact you have never tried them or even heard them. So just because you can't afford to have a good guitar tone doesn't mean others can't.

And they are only about £30 more than a Dimarzio or Duncan, and for EMG's some BKP's are the same price as an EMG.

No you don't :)

And about me "not being able to afford it", you don't know absolutely ANYTHING about myself. Learn to respect opinions different from your own. Just because you were born licking the guy from bkp's bawsack, it doesn't mean other should as well, so you might as well shut that obnoxious arrogant english piehole.

Yeah, RG's are good, after buying my S520EX I also bought an RG320FM (pic below) And I find myself playing the RG more for some reason, when originally it was just going to be a backup guitar kinda thing.
