and guru, stop bitching about low budget amps dammit....save your money and get something serious lol

im not the one bitching .... lol

Im gonna whip at germanian ass of yours :P

The Thermion isnt exactly cheap either it comes in at about a grand, and if it doesnt sound as good as the 5150 then its usless in my opinion.

I was just wondering if anyone had played one and hearing if it was any good....

Total brain fart there. Of course it doesn't help that I've never really liked any of the amps that Fender has made. And Peavey doesn't count, their amps are better than their guitars, so really they are an amp company that makes guitars as well :p...

POINT BEING, Ibanez should stick to guitars.

Chris Broderick had this to say about it:

Well I was invited down to the Ibanez L.A office to demo this amp today, and was really surprised at the tone quality. It has 2 channels one classic and one modern.
The first channel will go from sparkling clean to a gritty Marshall Tone and do both well. It has your usual EQ, Gain, and Volume, and adds a three position bright switch that works really well.
The second will go from gritty to heavy gain and has a very Dual Rectifier sound about it. It comes with the usual EQ, Gain, Volume, and adds a damping switch witch compresses the sound a lot adding more gain.

If I had to sum this amp up I would say it sounds like a Dual Rectifier with more gain, and a better clean channel. While this amp doesn't break any new ground it does offer someone on a buget a good sounding tube amp and a great price.

I trust chris aswell.... but ... this is coming from a man who was running a GNETFX Digitech Direct for his live tone for 2 years .... lol

You know, there may be something to that... ;)

I've heard mixed reviews of these things. Of course, Chris makes the comment I never understand - "sounds like a Dual Rectifier with more gain". What lunatic needs more gain that a Recto will provide?

I'm assuming Ibanez designed it that way to attract all the newbs who crank their gain knob all the way up when they first start playing. Which later, hopefully, they learn and back it down a ton.

*shrugs* I'm not saying it's top notch, but through a good cab at low volumes it's decent. Dino Cazares uses them....but what does he know about tone....

Nothing. Take a listen to the shitty Line6 garbage tone on the last few Fear Factory records he was on.

It was a breath of fresh air to hear Christian's guitar tone...
