Iron Cobras VS Pearl Eliminators....Im looking to soon upgrade my pedals and these two seem to be the best choices for full on assault. (Axis arnt in my price range :)

Any views? :kickass:

I'm a big fan of Cobras. I've had em on my kicks for a few years now and I couldn't be happier

Im guessing you have played the Pearls too? The things that keep me thinking about them are the fact that they have like 6 different cams + ive heard a strap drive and a red cam = speed and power beyond a fat mans wildest dreams! :Smokin:

i've got the cobras, but i've played the pearls. you can go wrong with either. I think the pearls can be really cool, due to the switchable cam. You can set up the cobras any way you want - they are very versitile. you'll just have to try them both and decide for yourself.

Indeed I think you are right. Depends how they are set up in store too :P I wouldnt mind selling my Peals *lower series* before I purchase any new ones. But I know part exchange will give me a few pennys for it lol.

Keith do you think Cobra's are more for speed where as the Pearl's are more for all sorts of genre's? Even though both are used in very fast bands :P Seems Cobra's are used by slightly more metal drummers. Easier for metal you think?

I have used Eliminators for a long time now. They get the job done, but they are much much better than stock pedals you get when you buy a drumkit. Noticeable difference in quality.

i would say the speed of both the different pedals is limited to how fast you can play. If you need a noticable improvement in speed, go for a direct drive pedal like axis, or flying dragons.

i can play the same speed on pearls with the red "metal" cams, as how my iron cobra's are setup. Although i think it was easier for me to do it with the pearls. The cams compensate the chain making the pedal respond differently.

Hmm yes, If I was going for the Elims I would go for the strap drive then with whichever cam I needed. Im not THAT fast, but I havent been playing long...I think I can do about 190bpm? The fact is on my lower series Pearls once I get to about 190 I cant get the rebound and general smoothness, the pedals just seem to like wobble about, I know with higher quality pedals such as the Elims and Cobras they stay nice and sturdy so you can really take off. Mine at the moment are also single chain, I think that may be something to do with it....Its so hard!!!! Ill have to try them both. Ive found the new IC's for £225 on the net! My left pedal lags quite a bit, does both the IC's and Elims have perfectly responding left pedals would you say? :)

I am not a drummer but my drummer got the pearl eliminators AND the tama iron cobras (his firned woks at the music shops and let him pay for one and try both at home) he chose the iron cobras tho i prefered the pearl eliminators.

Ahh thanks for the feedback! The belt drive is still classed as direct drive like Axis arnt they?
