Iced Earth questions for Spawn

Hell no, nothing like Slayer, its Iced Earths least heaviest/aggressive album by far, im not sure how much it is, but if you can get the 2 cd version for around 30 dollars I think its worth it.

This album is my last hope in metal. :(
Everything else in recent memory that I had been hanging out for turned to shit.
Wasp (past 3)
Dio
Maiden
Dream Theater (6 Deg)
Megadeth
Metallica
Alice
Nevermore
Queensrchye
Priest
Halford
and even Iced Earth's Horror Show. :(

And I guess it's pretty dangerous pinning my hopes on a band that I've never liked that much. Maybe I should just give up on the genre and only listen to Jan & Dean.

You're right. The only albums in the past couple of years that I can honestly say were brilliant, were those from bands I'd never really listened to before.
Like Opeth, Pain Of Salvation, Primal Fear , The Haunted, Anthrax, and even the LA Guns!

Im still looking forward to the new Wasp albums though, if it even gets close to Crimson Idol ill be happy :)

Hopefully Priest and Halford together will brake the drought of strong metal releases, and have a really strong year in 2004.

As for me liking everything, I can tell you I really don't like Reign In Blood. Most overated metal album ever. 2 classic tracks and a couple of other decent moments does not a classic album make, or even a good album for that matter. Pinacle of thrash my fucking arse, obviously people that think that have never heard of Megadeth, Testament, early Metallica, Kreator, or even other Slayer albums (such as Seasons).

There. :)

 I weep for the man who cannot appreciate the almighty Reign In Blood. South Of Heaven and Seasons In The Abyss are extremely close to its greatness though.

I can appreciate it, but it isn't one of the best albums ever, nor is it even one of the best thrash albums ever, like alot of people would have you believe.

Angel Of Death, however, is one of the best thrash songs ever.

Epidemic and Raining Blood rock also, and Piece By Piece is good, but there isn't much else on there that does it for me, and as an album it isn't that great.

 Seriously, part of the reason RIB is still seen as such a great album is because there really hasn't been anything like it before or since. 'Reign in Blood' is an absolutely insane album that even Slayer themselves has never been able to replicate. It's just "Grrrrrrrr Blahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Vrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmmmm" BANG! Over. When I first heard that album, I thought the world was coming to an end.
