OK, so greatest hits collections for some of our favourite bands are a dime a dozen, but no-one ever quite gets it right. Those of you with long memories and high boredom thresholds already know my thoughts on the perfect KISS and Maiden best-ofs, so here's a couple more:

DEEP PURPLE

Disc 1 (1968-1973)

7. Strange Kind of Woman
8. Fireball
9. Demon's Eye
10. Highway Star
11. Never Before
12. Smoke on The Water
13. Woman From Tokyo

Disc 2 (1974-1998)

13. Seventh Heaven

BLACK SABBATH (Warner Bros years)

11. The Dark/Zero The Hero
12. Seventh Star
13. No Stranger to Love
14. The Shining

Each of these double discs would come packaged with full lyrics, comprehensive liner notes and band photos from all eras.

Any thoughts on these or other compilations you'd release if you were in charge? I reckon The Ozzman Cometh needs a bit of revision, but I don't know enough about solo Ozzy to do it myself.

And yes, before anyone asks, I'm most dreadfully bored today :).

You chould have more Steve Morse era purple. You left off Ted the Mechanic, Sometimes I feel like Screaming (one of Purples finest from any lineup) and maybe even Any Fool Kno That.

I'd definatley leave out call of the wild and King of Dreams. Joelene Turner doesnt deserve to be on there. Also a few more tracks from Burn/Stormbringer. Maybe 'Hold On', just for Blackmores delicious solo, and defniatley a few more from Come Taste the Band.... Gettin Tighter has an awesome riff... and Comin Home has a great solo from Bolin as well. A great, fast paced rocker!!

Oh, and I'd add in Fools and No one Came from the Fireball album.... Lazy and Pictures of Home from Machine Head, Rat Bat Blues, and Place in Line from Who DO We Think We Are

When are they releasing another studio album, Sprucey?

Ooh, and I saw "The Best Of Glenn Hughes" today. I'm getting it as soon as I get paid (or maybe even on Friday if my tax cheque clears by then).

Here's mine with my favorite artist of today

8. sir,yes sir
9. 101 north
10. the gentle art of making enemies

cd2: The stuff that really makes no sense to anyone but mike Patton but is still really cool.

5. Merry go bye bye
6. The bends
7.page 2
8.page 9
9. page 15
10. Page 4
11. desert search for techno allah

now I'd by that, but I already have everything.

I dunno Spiff. Next year sometime, but they have been saying that for a long time now. I am becoming very frustrated with Purple. They release about 10 billion live products a year. I recently bought their new DVD Perihilion which was recorded last year. It is a pretty good dvd, but I need something new. They are beccoming a joke I reckon. They have a shitload of talent at the moment with Steve Morse, so they should utilise it!

Best of Glenn Hughes huh? Wonder what songs are on that. I really should make you a copy of Addiction. Very good hard rock album with awesome vocals

Iced Earth:

Disc one:
1. Burnt Offerings
2. Violate (live)
3. When The Night Falls (DOP version)
4. Melancholy
5. A Question Of Heaven
6. Dracula
7. Burning Times
8. The Prophecy
9. Birth Of The Wicked
10. The Coming Curse

Disc 2:
1. Diary
2. Pure Evil (DOP version)
3. Watching Over Me
4. The Hunter
5. Angels Holocaust (live)
6. Stormrider (DOP version)
7. Slave To The Dark
8. Travel In Stygian (live)
9. Dantes Inferno

Disc 3:
1. Colours

3. Ghost Of Freedom
4. The Phantom Opera Ghost
5. Last December
6. Solitude
7. Dark Saga
8. 1776
9. Stand Alone
10. Iced Earth (live)

F**KING METAL :headbang: :D (Unless otherwise noted, anything from the first 3 albums is from the godly remixed and remastered cds they just put out :D )

Sprucey - it's a 2CDer so it has stacks of songs! Can't remember many of them off the top of my head... I think the best ones from Burning Japan Live are on it, cos most of the songs I knew had (live) next to them.
