Ihsahn on Maryland Deathfest

Quite stoked on this, easily already a better lineup than 2012 and 2011. Curious to see how Ihsahn will go over since not too many people there are into 'proggy' music....just hope he throws in some Emperor songs like he did at PP. This year is well on its way to being the best lineup ever, although the recent band announcement is kinda lame. Exodus? Really? Overall though, a great, diverse lineup for metal fans. People write this fest off as a grindcore/slam death fest really need to look at the past half-decade of lineups!

It's funny...I live about 10 miles from where the event takes place & I have NEVER been to a MDF. But Manilla Road & Ihsahn on the bill means I'll definitely be there this year. Plus Bolt Thrower is a nice addition. And I'm interested in Pagan Altar now after Brian (dcowboys311) described to me what they sound like.

Should be a good show! Good line up!

Bolt Thrower? Yes!!! Was hoping they would play this year. Been wanting to see them for a long time, and I can get another shirt for less thab the $50 or so I payed for the one I have now.

Awesome to see Sleep on here. Wanted to see them on their mini us tour previously. Honestly, I've never even listened to Bolt Thrower. When I get home, I'll take a listen, but I have a feeling I may not like them.

If the band you are most excited for out of all these is SLEEP, I can say with near 100% certainty that you won't! ;)

Not necessarily sir. My tastes are diverse, it's just of those bands, the only ones I've really heard of were Sleep and Bolt Thrower, the latter I never listened to before. As of this writing though, I must say I dig what I hear. It actually wasn't quite what I was expecting. I definitely want to go to this next year, it's just a matter of how logistically.

He was making a joke, dude.

Bolt Thrower is just fucking elite in my opinion - one of the most solid, consistent bands ever, with a no-compromise attitude that's never faltered. When I go next year, I plan on nailing down exactly when and where they're selling merch so I can get an official shirt. My bootleg Bolt Thrower attire makes me feel a little bad (but their "vintage" shirts go for upwards of 70-100 bucks on eBay).
