I'll be honest with you guys

Yes, I have Andromeda, Power of Omens, Zero Hour. Andromeda isn't really in the "technical metal" genre. Sure, its technical, but I'm looking for Wantchtower/Spiral Architect technical.
Why listen to music just because it's technical?

No, I don't. But I like listening to tech metal sometimes. It is interesting to listen to. I'm listening to the cool solo in Vanished by Meshuggah, and its wicked. I don't listen only to technical music, but I like it every now and then.

Is that a crime!:guh:

longest i went without SyX is 3 weeks when my comp was down.. i tried putting the odyssey cd in my dvd player but the sound quality was pathetic so there was no point really. And then when my comp was back up, first thing i did that night was listen to all my favorite SyX songs again and it was as though i was hearing them for the first time again.. i was obsessed over them (more than i usually am?) for at least another week after that.

Dude, stop being an ass. Just because you went on from prog to other genres doesn`t mean you are to condemn Shred-Ididle for liking tech metal (characterized by shifting time signatures, chaotic start-stop songstructures and atonality) for its own virtues.

Yeah, what he said
You said once that you like Cynic, and they're technical Death, so your being hypocritical (theirs a big word for you, Harp heaven, lol) You might of musunderstood me when I said "technical metal". I was NOT meaning it in a adjectivly way (like only technical music), I was meaning the GENRE called "Technical metal". you might be unaware of "technical metal" is. It formed in the mid-80's when (the most underated band in the history of man-kind) "Watchtower'' came about (Bewere of the horrible vocals). They go beyond prog, and into the realms of complexity and intensity. Bands like DT will sound as simple as Britney Spears after you hear this. Some of this stuf is unbeleivable, you have to hear it to beleive it! Often taking elements of intelligence of arrangments and improvisation in jazz/fusion. their are many prog bands that are bordering on the genre "technical metal" (some of the drumming in Power of Omens, large preportions of Zero Hour, small amounts of Andromeda and a small fraction of Planet X). Meshuggah also takes some influence with their cyber-thrash/polyrhythmic metal. From what I've read (not heard), Cynic is like it but with death vocals. The only "TR()()" technical metal bands are Watchtower and Spiral Architect. I was wondering if theirs anymore. thats all

Yes, I agree. I think Kate Bush Rules! adds some good things to the board, but he/she is way too confrontational and self-righteous.
