Im about to get rocked BY a hurricane...

Only positive is giving me the reason to go to Fort Worth and meet up with my old guitar player... so maybe we'll jam around while Im up there... lol... like everybody's getting out... all these chicks I know and shit... its twisted... taking 3 hours to travel what normally takes 30 minutes.

From the weather channel:

"Hurricane Rita's rapid intensification cycle that began Tuesday afternoon continues. Top winds are up to 175 mph, now a category 5 hurricane. Rita's pressure has dramatically dropped to 897 millibars! Even as a large and extremely intense category 5 hurricane, further strengthening is possible as the atmosphere remains favorable for development over the next 24 hours."

Fucking intense... its the 3rd strongest on record to date... I wish they'd name these hurricanes after something more ominous than a waitress at a mexican restaurant... this fucker should be Hurricane Mephistopheles or something.

If my house collapses, Im starting a Hurricane Relief fund for new gear =P

Man, take care. I never saw a hurricane and in the part of the world where I live I suppose I won't see it ever. Too bad the others don't share the same luck... I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Did you check out the insurance thing? That would be wise in case Rita really hits your place really hard...

yea no shit eh. i always complain about how damn hot it is here, but at least we arent getting hammered by canes.

Take care man. Build a trench or something. Just make sure you and your loved ones are safe and forget about your gear for now. There's nothing more important that you and the people you care for. I wish you all the best!

Girl friend of mine is over now.. she was on her way to Dallas from the center of town, and it took her SIX FUCKING HOURS to get like 30 miles so she just stopped in to like, grab a drink and hit up the restroom and shit... crazy ass is traveling by herself, so, Im trying to convince her to wait until I leave to at least follow me up there!

Houston is flat... it IS sea level about, so its not much better than NOLA... the ship channel on the east side is going to get FUCKED and Galveston is getting submerged hardcore... this shit is looking brutal... BUT... people that ARE trying to leave CANT! Gas stations are running out of fucking gas and its taking people 11 hours to get 8 miles!!!!!! So people are running out of gas on the roads and/or overheating!!!

Dismal, Im just hoping my alternate backass route will work out... Im taking a bat and flashlight!

J

P.S. thanks a shitloads dudes for all the support..I started this thread just to rant and rave but its cool you guys are fuckin down like that. All the best.

damn, I really hope you get out of this shit and be ok!!!

so glad there's nothing like this stuff here in central europe!

best of luck to you!!

God DAMN... so that girl left, cuz she's fucking retarded and has it in her head that she needs to get up to Dallas and what not... anyways, I say this because they shifted the hurricane's path further to the east, which means we wont be getting the venomous end of it, if it goes according to plan, at least.... run on sentence deluxe!

Anyways, they've turned southbound lanes northbound... so they've got this contraflow evac system... and it hasnt helped worth of shit, really. She tried to take backroads that are just as bad if not worse... dude, its 6:11 pm for me, I spoke to her last around 5:30pm... she left here at 10:30 am... and has made it like 20 MILES!

It looks safer to stay home and play it out, then possibly be stuck in your car on the fucking freeway during this.. its absolutely insane out there... a masssss exodus.. 2 million people on the freeways evacuating, that's like HALF the city on the roads all at once heading in the same 3 directions.

I told her to turn around and head back and just batten down the hatches with us, but, she's not `bout it... stupid girl's heading north still, although the shit aint moving...

It's 100 degrees outside and the people who have run out of gas or whose cars have overheated are now getting fucking heatstroke cuz there's no shade or water for them...

Its looking like The Stand outside...

Good luck over there man, I live in Lafayette, Louisiana so I'm about to feel a little pain myself. It won't be as bad as further west from us though, but the shitty thing is I work for the Sheriffs Department over here so I have to stay behind when my family is leaving. It's pretty damn lame, not sure when I'll see them again. Anyway, everyone who is going to be affected by this fucker stay safe, calm, and make sure you conserve food/water because you never know how long you will have to live without electricity.

Yeah man, I was trying to but, since its taking people 8 hours to travel 10 miles... its seemingly impossible. Im sticking to the TV, however... seeing if ever anything breaks so I can decide whether or not Im making a run for it... not sure... I really dont have any $$$ to even eat up there for a few days... its all shit.

I just hope it moves further east and slows down.
