GENESIS

I just rediscovered my love for them. What a shame I didn't remind me earlier.
Anything Genesis and Phil Collins did was and is still brilliant.
That video in particular, so simple yet so powerful.

Anyone in here liking them as much as I do?

Huge fan of Genesis and Phil. That song is so incredibly amazing and moody, plus it reminds me of the Miami Vice series (which can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it).

This kind of music is awesome for practicing melodic solos!

My self just rediscovered Jarre:

(The guitarist plays horribly out of pitch though.)

I've been listening to the instrumental track that closes out Genesis' "Invisible Touch" album a lot lately. There's nothing particularly interesting about it rhythmically or melodically (in fact much of it is quite dull), but it's so goddamn 80s I can't resist.

Between the song and the band's choice of instruments, the live video is one of the most dated things you will ever experience.

Haha I like Patrick Bateman talkin´about Genesis in "American Psycho" :)

I listen to a south german radio channel, called SWR 1...they fuckin´play Genesis nonstop! Each morning I drink coffee and listen to this popsongs the millionth time. I really like some of ´em..but not all.

Genesis was the very very very first band I was into!
I still know that I can't dance was on the radio. Me, 5 years old, walking around the room with that nice walk :-)..
It's still on video, and everybody teases me with it..

Since then, nothing has changed...hehe..
I went to their reunion tour last year, was freakin' awesome!

Is probably what I've heard the most in my life... all of'em. I was looooooongig for the release of the 1970-75 Box. And it kicks arse !
Love their work with Phill too... no matter if it is progressive or not, it's good music (the best music) for me. Hopefully they'll reunite someday with mr Gabriel.

I got Abacab for $7 at my local supermarket (not kidding), and I love it! Certainly better than my usual A&P impulse buys of Oreos or chocolate milk

+1 !!

I just bought tickets to Jarre's concert in May (78e per ticket!! fer chris' sake..) He was last here in '97. Also the main reason why I started to play synths (along with Vangelis..).

Nice collection of rare synths in that Genesis video! :) Was never that much into Genesis, maybe I should check them out more thoroughly..

Yeah, Jarre has always had those kind of prices.
But hey, mention one artist except Pink Floyd that has that kind of mindblowing stage show? ;)

FUCK YEAH DUDE. I've got a Phil Collins documentary DVD and a handful of Genesis and solo Phil live DVDs. The dude is so badass Gandalf plays bass on his tours!

Check out Peter Gabriel's first couple solo albums too. I have a bunch of Genesis, Collins, and Gabriel vinyl. Beautiful shit.

Wow, I've never heard this song - this is incredible! I was totally into Genesis and Phil Collins as a kid in the 80s, but I really need to explore the catalog apparently. What album is this song from?
