in 6 days, i'll get to track some drums in a serious fucking studio, with some serious fucking gear...the stuff i have available to my self isn't bad, but my room(shed) blows goats, and it'll be sweet to put some of my shit to use in a large room with 20 ft. ceilings...

setup will likely be as follows:

Kick in: D6-->API 312
Kick out: U47-->Focusrite 110
Snare top: i5-->API
Snare bot: AT 4033-->API
OH's: U87 pair-->API
Hi-hat: SM-81-->110
Rack toms: D2 pair-->API

i'll try my best to get some pics of the session - might be tough though, because i'm limited to 3 hrs. to get setup, track, and strike...i'll see if someone else present can get pics while i'm working

and i'll definitely provide samples - provided of course that i feel the results are worth sharing!!

oh yeah i love my u87s on overheads. see if they have another sm81 and stick that on the ride. an sm81 is also killer under the snare.

well...the U47 didn't happen, instead i got to use an M149, so i'm not complaining. and it ended up being more of a mono room mic than outside the kick, but it was all good

session went so-so...drummer could've played tighter, and things could've gone faster, but it could've come out a lot worse

and sorry, but there was no time to get samples. i was wanting to do the same myself.
