I'm sorry, but the Kayo Dot CD sucks.

I'm sure he'll take it as a sign that all the rest of us ass-kissing, art-fag fans couldn't handle the disturbance created by his incredibly valid and well thought-out criticism. Since I know that I personally couldn't continue to enjoy listening to Kayo Dot after he posited such undeniable truths as "the songs are too long" and "the guys in the band are fags," I think it was necessary that we conspired against him to eliminate his dissenting voice. I mean, who knows - the band might have stopped listening to the rest of us and gone back to being good. The world just wasn't ready, Jerkface.

Unfortunately, The Brothers Karamazov fails as a work of literature. Dostoevsky's most recent effort may include fantastic prose, an engaging plot, and deep philosophical musings, but those are secondary to the facts that the book is too long and the author is a fag. -- Jerkfacenikov

haha I just went back and looked over this thread again and I realised that, due to the fact that I checked it at work and my school's internet filter, I had seen Jerkface call Forbes a "------" and assumed it was "dickhead" or something. the "wigger" comment is kind of priceless.

this is somehow appropriate...

Tobias,

My problem with your music is that it is the Metal equivalent of Drew Carey; fat, bloated, and never achieving what it allegedly sets out to. I say this because if you listen to Choirs of the Eye it is very clear your mother wore combat boots and you enjoy pornography featuring Michael Jackson and various members of the Mickey Mouse Club. Furthermore, your brother smells like catfood and your compassion for animals leaves much to be desired. Your gay friends will surely gay down my gay throat for gaying on your gay forum but my opinion is well founded for I am not gay like you gay art fags. Yeah you assfaced assholes write shitty music because you do what you say you're going to do but i listen to it expecting something you said you'd do when you were in high school so fuck you, art fag. YEAH! GARGLE ON MY SEMEN! SPORTS! YEEEAH!

p. s. Sorry about the kitty. Feel free to come by and chill with Gus sometime.

Well, i kind of can relate with some of the issues pointed by Jerkface.... ah, Hi guys, long absence.

I was right now listening to Marid's Gift of Art, and wondering about the remote possibility of Bath and Leaving, after all these years being the albums with which i can identify the most, being with schizophrenic moments, melodies of quaint and rare beauty and innocence, and poetical lyrics. And I felt like coming to this very forum, to thank all the people that made these two albums possible, and somehow making me believe there are some people like me… (since I play on some bands, someday, If I have the opportunity and the luck, perhaps I’ll record something on a near future, god knows I’m broke;))

With Kayo some factors are still present, lyrical content… but I don’t know, some songs exaggerate too much on some parts, they aren’t really schizo, the weirdness of the music seems somewhat “produced”, to my ears it doesn’t feel natural. And it seems that when a song kind of starts making sense, somewhere along the way, it loses it’s point. I’m a pretty experienced listener, not only metal… I just don’t understand why for all this time, I haven’t listened to Kayo Dot, and the mp3 for all this time have laid here collecting digital dust. I know the album is good, but something is missing for sure, cohesiveness perhaps.

Thanks a lot for your music guys, it’s beautiful and intelligent, and it has touched me very deeply. Keep on with your musical weaving, whatever it may be.

the only problem i have with this new album is that i like choirs better.

when i heard choirs for the first time, it was like 'busy record, many stuff going on, lots to investigate'. was very excited while discovering it.

today, listening to choirs is like on a 'regular' basis, have no problem or headache to listen to it next to any pop record or something.

but this new record (except the opener, which sounds like khanate with shizoid yorke on vocals) lacks that excitement. maybe i'm still young for this kind of record.
