Yo, I've started writing reviews for a webzine...I did a review of Choirs of the Eye...(go to writings, and to K in the reviews)

I prefer Maudlin of the Well over Kayodot, pretty much completely, but I still greatly appreciate what you guys have done and the effort you have put in to create unique, beautiful music. I gave it a pretty good score, but rated it down because of some of Jerkface's complaints, how the songs are so big and sprawling that they sometimes feel a bit directionless and frustrating to listen to (something I probably didn't quite detail enough in the review, but ahh well). However, unlike Jerkface, I can appreciate it for what it is, I just can't enjoy it quite as much as the more traditionally structured Maudlin. It's an amazing sonic achievement in many ways, and it's less that Kayodot is bad music, but that I don't feel that I connect to it so much, it feels a bit impersonal and stylistically unyielding, and I've heard the album many many times. It's like a shell with a perfect pearl inside that you can't quite get open...haha...arty. In other words, it is too big and detailed for its own good, and I'm not talking about song-lengths, which are normally no issue for me in the least. However, I DO actually like it. So nyah.
