Been seeing that word everywhere if somebody wanst to take 2 seconds and explain plz ..

What are they ?
what do u need to use them ?


i have a slim idea but could some body gimme so guidance on that ..?

basically a computer models what happens when a signal passes through a particular environment or piece of gear, or signal chain using a brief pulse of white noise.

the difference between the unaffected white noise and the modeled version are subtracted. the result is an "impulse"
theoretically you can then apply this impulse to any signal you want resulting in the signal being affected as if it passed through that particular environment.

this is what "modeling" means or "convolution"
