In case anyone actually still thought Dream Theater weren't nu-metal...

Okay....forget about what I said. Here's another chance. I post an amusing picture, and you try having a good laugh regardless of whether you like Dream Theater's new material or not.

DREAM THEATER'S BIGGEST SECRET:

I really don't give a flying fuck what kind of clothes he's wearing. Octavarium is almost completely devoid of any nu-metal bullshit, and easily on par with the band's best work. The title track is probably the most prog thing theyve done.

Finally, someone speaks the truth. And so what if they have nu-metal leak into some of their songs? Dream Theater and progressive music in general have always taken several of the popular styles at the time and integrated them into a massive blend of genres and twisted it into something complex and far better. You know why they don't do much jazz or tunes with saxophone leads anymore? That died out around the mid 90s, so they moved on to adopt newer styles into their progression of music. Hence the name, progressive metal.

NOTE TO EVERYONE: STOP GETTING BUTTHURT ABOUT OTHER PEOPLE'S OPINIONS ON RANDOM BANDS. THAT IS ALL.

Damn straight!

But I thought you didn't listen to pre-"At the Heart of Winter" Immortal?

I own all of their albums except blizzard beast and Ive listen to that online, At the Hear of Winter and Sons of Norther Darkness are the ones I listen to the most. The first 3 albums are cool, just repetitive.

Good for you! I just thought I remembered you having some prejudice against kvlt black metal or something, but I must've mistaken you for someone else. "Pure Holocaust" are my personal favorite, by the way.
