More than a great legacy.

In Flames never appealed too much to my soul. They were a very good, melodic, Maidenesque band. Great solos, bad vox.

I'm not too familiar with AE. Heard the last album, and I liked a couple of songs. Not enough to be saved in my HD.

AE's all good. Old In Flames is good (I only like half of Colony). And I never got into DT. So, I'd say AE.

Arch Enemy for me too. I have only heard their last one,
and I love it! In Flames just can't keep my attention for
long, and Dark Tranquillity was a band I listend to a lot
a year ago or something... Maybe I should dig up that

Really good question, I love all of those bands.

Mike Ammott is one of my all time favourite Guitarists. Moonshield is one of my favourite ever songs and In Flames are one of the best live acts I've seen (stole the show from Dimmu Borgir and Nevermore!!) But.

The Gallery is one of my favourite few metal albums full stop.

Dark Tranquility win by a whisker.

DT and In Flames for me (I can't pick the best of the two - well, perhaps In Flames for all-around -based on Whoracle and The Jester Race, but DT's Skydancer has fantastic lyrics).

Every single album by Arch Enemy is better than any album by Dark Tranquillity (except for Skydancer) and In Flames (except for Lunar Strain) hence I choose Arch Enemy.
