in flames & dt

That's not an easy question. It happened around 95. The bands are good friends so i guess. Well I don't know they wanted to:)
I like both too! two good vocalist and two good personalities

Fool!

Well, first of all, it wasn't a "switch".

Anders left Dark Tranquillity in 1993 due to musical difference between him and the rest of the band, therefore Mikael took over the vocals (he even said that he wasn't very good at playing the guitar anyway).

Two years later, Anders joined In Flames right after Ceremonial Oath disbanded.

That's pretty much it really.

Smartass! :D

I have seen your speches, you know it all about this band. Cool! I guess you've done alot of researching or you are a band member:O?

After Skydancer Anders went to Cermonial. Okey and Mikael took over the vocals. Here is my question: Did Mikael only do voclas on Lunar strain because In Flames didn't have a singer? How about the touring after LS?

Yup, I'm a band member.

Correct!

Yeah, Mikael was doing In Flames a favor because they didn't find a vocalist at that time. Everyone actually thinks that he was a member of In Flames back then, but in fact, he was just a session vocalist.

How about the touring after LS?
Mikael along with Anders Jivarp (drummer of Dark Tranquillity) performed live with them after the release of Lunar Strain in a couple of gigs in Sweden and Germany.

A band member... heh. Would be interesting for a band member to be so strongly against the current stuff N'Flamez are peddling :D

I've heard the lyrics for F(r)iend are about Anders F(r)iendship with Dark Tranquillity
Reference?

But guys remenber that In Flames is under dictatorship of Anders;) Clad IS Jesper Strömblad;)
I am indeed, Jesper Strömblad. Anders is fucking up the band, so I'm quitting soon along with Daniel! I want to devote myself completely to Dimension Zero, and Daniel to Sacrilege.

Reference?

Can't remember, i think some guy here said it.

And while i'm directly talking to you Clad in Shadows, i think it's pretty fucking ignorant to still blame Anders after all this time, it's getting stale. The guy writes the lyrics and vocal melodies.
Bjorn and Jesper write the music itself, their the guys responsible for the new sound. I'm almost certain Anders wouldn't have such a strong influence on the rest of the band in terms of changing their sound. Give the poor guy a fucking break, he's a great frontman.
I'm not a fan of the bands new material, but it's so typical of ignorant pricks like you to just hang the entire blame on Anders.

I'm just saying this because I dislike Anders. He thinks that he's a rockstar or something.

Regarding "who fucked up the band", I guess all of them did. If any of them didn't like the direction they were going to in the first place, then I guess this certain member would have left. But seeing no one did, then I suppose they're on the same track.

What leads you to believe Anders thinks he is a Rockstar? I hear this accusation regularly but never really see any backup as such. In the majority of the interviews I read he seems fairly down to Earth, and onstage he just has a weird sense of humour :D I don't know where the rockstar accusation comes from.

A. Anders has always seemed pretty humble and cool to me. He's into what they're doing. He doesn't push himself into the spotlight or anything that I can tell.

B. I don't think anyone "fucked up the band." I think they progressed in a musical direction that most people seem to oppose, but they like it and it was a smooth transition, so I think it was just a natural progression.

Yeah, Anders seems like one of the most humble frontmen of a big-time metal band. Any kind of rock band for that matter. He seems down to earth and really cool.
