I dig the overall sound. I have good expectations this time ! I just hope it's not too much about riffage verses + cheesy chorus with easy chord progression.

Seriously, the guitars were horrible and there was no bass at all. Just compare the new song to one from Come Clarity. I believe they accidently muted the bass track But sound is a personal preference of course, to each his own.

It sounds good. Not great but it might grow on me. Definitely a LOT better than ASOP. I'm not sure if I can't find a good quality version to listen to, or if the mix isn't that great. Really cool ideas but just sounds lo-fi, and not in a good way. I'm sure its just shitty rips though.
Come Clarity had an amazing production! And dunno what you're on about with bass, on either Come Clarity or this new one, all of In Flames' albums have huge loud bass.

I totally understand one would not like this album, it's really not "normal" sounding but it's also really what I love about it, and the whole picture is just awesome to my ears, not to mention the definition of guitars are pretty good and that grinding bass is very aggressive for me, and I like the place that drums are taking. Also, the first time I started the CD, in a few seconds I was "what the fuck is that ?" cause Take This Life just totally jumped in my face.They can do a "normal sounding good metal album" with that new records but Come Clarity will stay a unique album to me

And yes I was referring to Come Clarity with the lack of bass. I do not have the CD here unfortunately, but every version I can find online (streaming, not downloading) lacks bass compared to, let's say "only for the weak". You gotta agree the bass is more powerful on Clayman than on Come Clarity, right? Perhaps it's just the bad cold I have at the moment, though

Clayman's bass may have more lowend (Clayman has a huuuuge lowend) but few albums come closs to the balls that Come Clarity's bass have. Have another listen.
2:40 in "Dead End" the bass comes in, if you're struggling to hear it (I don't know how!)

Well Come clarity sounds like the highpassed the guitars to around 400hz or something. And the whole mix is soooo bosted around 3khz that it makes my ears bleed listening to it. So although it sounds pro i don't like the mix at all

Yeah horrible sounding guitars on come clarity...so spiky. But when I saw them live they had the same sound.
