Here's the mix I'm working on at the moment for my band:

Just FYI, the drums are not even meant to sound real - industrial, baby :loco:
The vocals are demo vocals by yours truly while waiting for the real vocals, currently being recorded 750 km from here, hehe.

I'm quite happy with it already, but perhaps some fresh POVs could bring something to attention?

The guitars are DI with TSE X30 and Splatt88's Marshall impulses.
Bass is a synth.
Drums are on Battery 3 with some extra drum loops in the background.
Synths from 12 different VSTi's :)

First time for me to try mixing with a visual map of the mix, and all tracks at -12 dB peak. I was surprised how loud it got without even trying much! I started out by tweaking the guitar until I liked the tone, then balancing everything in low volume mono, and finally putting it all together. Worked quite easily :)

Thanks!

Definitely liking this music.

Sounds like everything is buried beneath the guitars. You could try lowering the guitars to let everything else breath more, also they sound a little thin and fizzy. I'd try a different impulse, a more mid focused one or maybe try lowering the treble on the X30.

I like the way you're heading man, that mechanical sound :D But I'd go for that guitar tone:

Funny that you say, I actually first used Dino's old tone (modded Marshall JCM800 + Mesa) from an older video clip as a reference :) Can't find it on Youtube now, but I can post it later. In the clip, you can hear just the original guitar tone, while he plays :) No background stuff to distract.

Damn I still wish to get that tone, hehe... I was quite close with a boosted Lepou Hybrit and Mesa impulse, but I think I'll need to move some real air for the real deal. Perhaps active pups too.

Edit:
Ah, found it :) (starts at 1:40 into the video)

Orgasmic tone!
Just checked out "Demon in The Circuitry" by your band. Sounds freaking evil! That's a full, rich tone which I'm trying to achieve myself :D

the top end is a bit too abrasive, i'm on the cans right now and it burned out my ears in a matter of seconds

time to put'em deesers to work
