here are the chords that i figured out for ashlee simpson's song "La La." I'm keeping them to just power chords for now because it seems like that is what the guitar is doing.

B5 G-A-G
You can dress me up diamonds
B5
You can dress me up in dirt
B5 G-A-G
You can throw me like a line-man
B5
I like it better when it hurts

E5 G5
Oh, I have waited here for you
G5
I have waited

B5
You make me wanna la la
D5
in the kitchen on the floor
A5
I'll be a french maid
E5
When I meet you at the door
B5
I'm like an alley cat
D5
Drink the milk up, I want more
A5
You make me wanna
E5
You make me wanna scream

B5 G-A-G
You can meet me on an aero-plane
B5
Or in the back of the bus
B5 G-A-G
You can throw me like a boomerang
B5
I'll come back and beat you up

E5
Oh, I have waited here for you
G5
Dont, keep me waiting

B5
You make me wanna la la
D5
in the kitchen on the floor
A5
I'll be a french maid

well let's put it this way. i didn't buy the album and i don't listen to her 24/7. i occasionally watch her show on mtv and i was watching videos at my parents house yuesterday while i was playing guitar and happened to start strumming along to see the chords.

i also figured out a good portion of the new kelly clarkson song. so i am an equal oppurtunity pop princess song figure-outer. :)

well helm i wouldn't say that all flaunted stupidity offends me. "offend" is such a strong word. let me just put it to you like this:

i take myself as a musician very seriously. i think the way record companies create artists and music is terrible in the context that they dliute the marketplace for commerical profits and they don't give any support to the struggling musicians out there who bust their asses to create quality music that is both thought provoking, interesting, and intelligent.

all that being said, i don't buy ashlee simpson's cds, i don't buy tickets to go see her in concert, i don't buy any of her merchandise, i don't have posters of her on my wall, i watch her video on demand for FREE, or maybe listen to a song on the radio for FREE, or watch her mtv show for FREE.

so as you can see i do NOT support her or her record company's creation of her as a pop star in any type of commerical way, instead spending my money on new artists who create "real" music that i feel should be supported.

so if i don't financially support her or other people like her, then i see absolutely nothing wrong with acknowledging that i have a fondness for the occasional fun cheesy pop song. :)
