Dude, you can replace audio to a video on Youtube and still keep the amount of hits it has and all the comments etc. I've been thinking about remixing one of my tracks and replacing the audio on one of my videos and you don't have to resubmit anything, there is an option to do this on Youtube... it's just whether they could be arsed to do it for you now... but it is entirely possible.
