Instrument Mics

Ok so we all know about the trusty SM57, but what other mics do you guys recommend in the same price range (even cheaper maybe?)

errrr shure beta 52, d12, d112

906 is supposed to be better but i've never heard of any real experience with this mic.

I think there is a Audio Technica mic that just cam out that is a supercardiod instroment mic and it is going for around 100. Just can't remember the fucking name and to lazy to grap my recording mag to look.
