So does anybody know what amp was used to get this crushing sound (the Minus the Herd album)? To me it sounds a lot like what I've heard from ENGL Savage clips, but you never know in these cases... could be a heavily modded marshall for all I know.

Well, live they use 6505+'s, so there's a possibility right there. At some point or another there has always been a 5150 variant in their recording, so my guess is there is probably some in Minus the Herd.

I was wondering too, for me it sounds mainly like 5150 but there's something else layered there... with a smoother top-end.
