Hey everyone, back with another Noob question..... you will be getting ALOT of these from me so I apologise because I will prolly get on your nerves... ANYWAYS! I was watching Waterboys Tutorial on Impulse Responses.... exactly what are they and where do I find them and how to I set them up? Probably a dumb question but just curious... still learning some of the studio lingo. Thanks everyone and sorry about the Noobism lol.

Well an "IR sample" is an impulse (Impulse Response sample), so as for good impulses, well, there are good cab impulses, and good reverb impulses, and good impulses for tons of stuff, and most of 'em are floating around here! And as for a good AU plugin, since you have Logic Pro 8, you should have Space Designer, so that'd be perfect!
OH OK!!! I see what they are now. So in a sense they are kind of like "effects". Now im not saying they ARE effects but for like people like me (noobs lol) I was thinking they were effects applied to certain this. But they are call Impulse Responses. Ok I get it now. Thanks!

Haha, it seems to be lol. I dunno I just feel dumbfounded when it comes to this stuff. I dunno all you guys are nice cause im used to other forums where everyones a d!ck lol. Everytime I would asked a question I would get called a noob so im just used to the verbal abuse like a red headed step child to a drunken father hahaha. No but seriously even though I am asking "simple" questions (atleast for most of you) no one is being an a$$ to me about it and everyone is being VERY helpful, im loving this site more and more!
