Iron Maiden - Countdown

Yeah, i also found it a bit odd they have a countdown for one day and something. I guess it's just the tour which is starting on June 9th? It certainly is no release date for the new album, but i'm still hoping for some new material. The artwork looks like Seventh Son in cool.

I hope not. I have a friend who believes this will be their last album! Let's all say a prayer to the dark lord that this is not to be so.

That's because of the title "FINAL Frontier" and someone in the band said he wanted to do 15 albums and then retire or something. But that was years ago, when no one thought they'd get this far. They seem to be happy doing what they do, so i wouldn't be worried to much.

I hope its not their last album. We've already lost Bushthrax, don't want to lose Maiden too. Im thinking the countdown is for Maidens US tour starting this month or its a new single or album release date announcement.

will be seeing them in August...they headline Sonisphere in Finland...and promised to play proper full show...

I like this new epic or more progressive Iron Maiden - don't listen it very often though.

T:)

Will be gutted if they do announce it's their last album. My favourite all time band by a mile. Best live act I have ever seen as well. Made all the other bands I've seen live seem ordinary (and I've seen a squillion too).

UP THE IRONS!

not a big maiden fan but did see them last time they were in australia, they put on a good show, they shit all over judas priest who were here not long after maiden.

Oh, they'll do a full show. They'd lough their asses of if someone tried to book them for a one hour festival show

Maiden always had some really epic songs (Rime Of The Acient Mariner, Revelations), just never a whole album full of them. I liked A Matter Of Life And Death too, although some of the songs were kinda repetitive.

I've seen then on the Matter Of Life And Death Tour, which was great. I've seen them in Wacken on the Somewhere Back In Time Tour and it was just perfection. It is totally inhuman what these old guys still pull of on stage. Maiden make all the Big 4 bands cower in fear. Maiden also have the most devoted fans in the whole business. I got chills hearing 100.000 people singing every fucking note - not just the vocals, but also the guitar melodies.

I will see them again in Wacken this year. Will be hard for them to top the SBIT show.

Shouldn't the new album be released prior to a tour? So people know the songs and can sing along?

Agreed. I saw them in '99, '00, '06 and '08. Every show was great. Every crowd was into it 110%. The greatest metal band of all time. The Big 4 will always be in Maiden's shadow!!! Got my tickets to see them in Chicago in July!! Oh BOY!

You said it. I have never ever been to any other concert and seen 15,000 people all standing on their feet singing every song from start to finish - young and old completely in awe of the onstage performance. Never seen anything like it - they are simply stunning live. For me, Bruce as a frontman puts every other lead singer to shame with his superhuman energy. HOW THE HELL does he do it? Fly a plane and then back up with a non-stop show that puts fitter, younger men to shame.

Totally incredible. I love this band simply because they were the first metal band I ever got into back in the late 80s. But more so coz I also truly believe they are the greatest metal band ever. Period.

Rock on brother. I saw them in Milwaukee in '99, and kids who were 12, 13 or 14 were singing along to EVERYTHING( (Di'Anno, Dickinson, Blaze)!!! It was amazing. A great band, and let's hope they keep going for years!! At least I can count on Iron Maiden not ot be a soap opera (I think)!

Well, when they reunited with Adrian Smith they just hired him in addition to their other guitarists instead of firing one. Now they are playing with three guitarists, which is totally awesome, since one can play a rhythm while the other two play a harmony completely live, not faking it with some stupid effect pedals. And still everyone has his moments and no one is getting lost in the mix. I don't think something like that has been done before, at least not with success. Even Maiden had some low points in their career, but today they are in a league of their own. I mean, they have their own friggin' Boeing, piloted by Bruce himself (i have no idea how he flys that plane and still jumps around on stage like an 18 years old and at the same time nailing every note. He clearly must be some kind of semi-god).

I'm touched deeply. Thank you.

Seriously back on topic. Anyone know what the deal is with Maiden... their site is timing out.

Couldn't have said it any better myself. I was there when $haron Osbourne tried to ruin their set. Thew eggs and them, turned their power off etc. It was awesome how the entire audience boo'd $haron Osbourne. That chick is te biggest fakest fucking cunt I have ever seen in my life. Its great. Ozzfest is pretty much a joke. Maiden continues to do their own tours and sells out stadiums around the world.

If I actually saw $haron throw an egg I would have broken her fucking plastic face into pieces. Same with her fat fucking daughter and big john.

Works now. No word about retirement. They are giving away the first single for free. Album artwork looks great. There is also a full track listing. Titles sound cool, a lot very lengthy songs again. I am now waiting for the download to work ^^

Awesome. I got it to work (sort of) too. Now like you just waiting for the download to work properly.
