There's a lot of drummers in metal scene that I love

Richard Christy
Gene Hoglan
Sean Reinert
Trym
Frost
Many others that Iknow but I don´t want to write for my timeless situation right now

but, the Asgeir's style is the best for me...

do you think like me?

dont forget Bobby Jarzombek
for proof check out the "bobquanet" video on the ronjarzombek.com
website -then pick up your jaw up off the floor!!!

BUT --- there is no doubt Asgeir is better or just as killer
he IS the maaaaaan !

-rick colaluca from watchtower is one of personal favs as well as
-dustin donaldson -drummer on the first 2 THOUGHT INDUSTRY cds mostly
"mods carve the pig-assasins, toads, and gods flesh"
-nick ochiro from static X is killer as well but not as much as a show off
as many of the prog metal drummers we've been chatting about
-charlie zeleny is getting there.....

No disrespect to Asegir, but he is not the best. As far as tech metal these days go I would say these guys:

Hannes Grossman - Necrophagist
that guy in Spawn of Possession
Dave Murray (not the IM guitarist, "google" Tholus or Deserts of Traun)
Hunter Ginn - Canvas Solaris
Charlie Zeleney - Behold...
Bobby Jarzombek

I personally think in every way, shape and form Virgil Donati is the best. how many drummers can play in 5/8 and 7/8 at the same time?

Virgil's great, but I can think of two, right off the bat, who can outdo him: Rick Colaluca and Bobby Jarzombek. Rick still takes the cake as far as my all-time list of metal drummers is concerned - and rather easily at that. :worship:

Does Rick Colaluca have any other material besides the Watchtower stuff ? I've been trying but unable to find anything myself... hard to believe that someone with his talent would stop playing.
