Is Catharsis really banned?

I think he was outright banned. I think there is something stating in the CDC membership that if you post any of the "breaking info" that comes from the CDC on here, then your cdc account will be deleted. Not sure why he would be banned on here, though. Seems pretty geigh to me, and yes, he was pretty trüe. Oh well
This place is starting to be like the Megadeth forum now.

He pretty much knew he was going to be banned, he even mentioned it before it happened.
I'm not happy about him being banned, in fact, I hate it. However, he knew what was going to happen. He didn't just post the clip once, it was several times.
That being said, I feel he, and all of us to a degree, were sick of a certain mod (who thinks this board should be closed by the way!!!) posting clips from the CDC that you could only watch if you were already a CDC member. Why bother posting it here? We can't watch it here unless we're members. And, if we were members, why would we want to watch it here? Why wouldn't we just watch it there? Obviously, this mod wanted to stir it up and when someone bit, he was banned. If anyone should be banned, in my opinion, it would be that mod. Since he doesn't even want this board to exist, why should he continue posting here, let alone help run it?
Of course, that's just my opinion. Hopefully, I won't be banned for having one.
By the way, I've NEVER had ANY problem with ANY OTHER MOD on this board.

I do not think so, there are plenty of unofficial boards on UM. I'd sign up to an unofficial board before i would sign up to the shitty CDC again.

What's a fucking tragedy?! The guy made our favorite band's video available to all of us. He should have been promoted for doing that (especially, if you take in consideration the current status of the band). 'Cause it seems like pretty soon even giveaways won't help...

I'm not saying that what Catharsis did was right or wrong. If he posted something from CDC, I can understand why such a post would be taken down. My argument is that Catharsis shouldn't have been banned outright because of it; rather, he should have been given a warning not to do it again. If Thraxdude had previously posted similar videos, then we have a precedence set, even if the band told him to take them down.
What I really don't like in this place of late is that any post expressing any sort of opinion is getting deleted - yeah, wonderful way to encourage fans of Anthrax to keep their passion going. Jesus Christ, even if they are saying they don't like the present situation, at least they're paying attention to it and they still care enough to say something. Is it better for people to not care?!? (Hey - just because I say I don't like something a band is doing or not doing, it doesn't mean I'm not a true fan.)
It's not like Scott's gonna read this shit anymore and comment on it; last comment I saw from the same CDC chat where he and Thraxdude wanted to close this board, he barely spends time here anymore. Guess I'm not a real fan because my financial situation doesn't allow me to join a fan club, eh? (News flash: I've NEVER been a member of any band's fan club in my life. I show my support through music and concert ticket purchases.)
Jono, you're right - to a point. Fuck it, make this the unofficial Anthrax message board, and leave the CDC to the <sarcasm>dedicated</sarcasm> fans who drop money for the privilege. Leave one or two mods to weed out the trolls and SPAM, and let us bitch and moan in comfort. I've met too many cool people in these chats, so I'm not about to just throw up my hands and say close the whole damn thing down.

If you remember the thread where they talked about NFMB being closed, I actually called for Thraxdude to step down as moderator. No sense doing something you absolutely hate. I still feel that way - get someone else who's willing to put up with everyone's shit and who really cares about the band and our little community.

Yes, I know that Brent has the first and last word about who stays or goes as members of the board (see? I actually read the FAQ!), but I still think we can do better than a one-strike rule. That is, unless you're a spamming troll, in which case, I fully support shoving a flaming two-by-four up their asses and throwing them off the board. (Not that you asked, of course...) :Smug:
I want to be careful what I say - not because I'm worried about being banned (hell, I took on Brent and said he was wrong about the whole JohnnieCzech mess, and I'm still here), but because I have no ill will against jdelpi or Thraxx - Thraxx has actually been very cool to me, so I have full respect for him. No disrespect meant towards Steve M, but I honestly don't recall seeing him on here, so I am not slamming him or Brent, either.
I still state we have a rather civil little community, with the occasional ripple of anger and taunting. In cyberspace, that ain't bad. But you all know the saying about one apple and the bunch.

exactly, and what does it take to have this be the unnoficial board? delete the link from the site and delete the official band bullitens at the top. and honestly i don't think we need a mod. ultimate metal has one and if we need to we can contact him if someone is getting out of line. i honestly think mods shouldn't participate in board posting aside from official things and honest questions. that way they're not caught up in shit slinging or flaming bullshit and when a post is deleted for being offensive or whatever they don't have to even listen to the complaining. If the band members are going to get thier feelings hurt by our comments then they need to just not read the board. who cares about reputation just keep making awesome music. if i think you're an asshole i'm still gonna dig your music if it's good. i'll still go to your concerts, i'll still buy your shirts, i just won't stroke your ego by waiting for hours outside your bus to get an autograph. I'm all for not having an "official" anthrax board. then we can say what we want.

I couldn't agree more. This place is very tame when compared to other message boards. And the mods, other than one, have been great!
By the way, Steve M does post here occasionaly.

he posted the video link a couple of times and those posts were either edited or removed depending on what threads they were in. after that he posted the clip in about 20 threads and in every post he said he was going to get banned.
maybe after the first round of posting he was pm'd to knock it off.
