According to me, he should be game over, but will never be. A guy which is so selfish and cannot stand for better musician than him is nothing but a jerk. Saying that Diggorgio (sorry for the spelling there) is not able to play bass the way it should be played is just a joke!!! Have you heard what this guy has done Quo Vadis's last CD, it is just great?? (sorry...don't know the title). Schaffer's last album (I say Schaffer....and not Iced Earth..it's done on purpose) The Glorious Burden really sucks. Horror Show wasn't that bad, compare to Something Wicked This Way Come, but the Glorious Burden.......Now he has lost Barlow AND Cristie (sorry again for the spelling). Not that the new singer isn't good....but Barlow was amazing. He should really change something in his manner.....but anyway there will always be a jackass that'll join his band .......

Am I the only person here who reckons the Glorious Burden was FUCKING AWESOME?!? All this shit about Schaffer running out of riffs pisses me off cause it's completely unfounded, he's still writing awesome shit and has plenty more in him, I'd say.

Tim Owens solo album = TEH WINNAR

Jon Schaffer = TEH LOSAR!!!1!!

Horny bear which gets to shove his big paw up Jon's ass = TEH OTHER WINNAR

jon shaffer is a pretty good guitarist, but he writes the same fucking albums over and over. every single song has the palm muted triplet...it's good, but it gets boring when it's in everything the man puts out.

although attitude doesn't make me like or dislike a band, jon really needs a fucking attitude adjustment. i used to be a big fan of IE, but i've grown out of them.

Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa!!

What's this about Tim Owens doing a solo album? Damn, where have I been?

with the sole exception of the BONUS disc that came with the glorious burden... which contained the amazing Gettysburg epic, the album was horrible. I love all the pervious IE albums tho. Brign back barlow and ill be happy.

I do not care what they do now. My favorite IE is Night of The Stormrider, that is all that matters. Even some of the others have some good moments, nothing classic. NOTSR really sticks with me well above the others. Randall Shawers solos are badass. Besides that Jon's best guitar work is on the Demons & Wizard's s/t. I'd rather see another Demons & Wizards. Iced Earth should have had Hansi Kursch on vocals from the start. He shits on Barlow. Matt Barlow is good but does not sound metal nor is diverse in range. The calmer IE songs are horrible, so are his vocals(I Died For You,etc...). John Greely fit Iced Earth a lot better than Barlow. Barlow is just to soft sounding. Ripper sounds a lot better in Iced Earth than Barlow. Ripper is intence, sounds metal and has range. Barlow just sounds way to forced. Like someone punched his stomach, it is not convincing. Iced Earth should re-record Iced Earth(s/t) with Ripper. Musically that cd is great. The best IC musically besides NOTSR. To bad Gene Adams is a hideous atrocity. Matt Barlow is not epic.

Are you referring to this kind of pattern?
Code:
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 +
0-000-000-000-00
These are not triplets. It's an eighth note followed by two sixteenth notes.

Glorious Burden was okay. Tim Owens is a fucking great vocalist, but he'll never be as good as Bruce Dickinson which is clearly what he was aiming for on that album (not Halford like some would have you believe).
No band will ever top "Powerslave" or "Pice Of Mind", so Iced Earth might as well stop feckin trying.

Yeah V., that one was over my head too. :err:

Someone's Death sig claims that they are/were "corpse grinding death metal."

It's funny cuz Death were never death metal by today's standards.

And Chuck <3d God.

well whatever you want to call them doesn't matter..i'll call them my pals notes..whatever, he still does it in every song, constantly.
